Remote Learners ONLY Announcment

Students should be taking their attendance daily on infinite campus. If your student is unable to logon to infinite campus, please contact the office. All online classes are provided on edgenuity. Please have your student login to edgenuity.com and sign in using their student ID number. Their password is Eagles with a capital E. This information is also located on google classroom under the classwork tab. Also, if your student is struggling or needs additional support, we have multiple reoccurring zoom meetings set up throughout the school day. There is a document labeled Help Schedule located under this classwork tab on google classroom. Students are welcome to join the appropriate zoom meetings to support them. Remember, that students should spend at least 1 hour on each class, each day. They should accomplish 6% of each class each week. Students are only given 1 additional retake on quizzes and tests. If they fail their first attempt, please remind them to go back through the material, take good notes, and ask for help before attempting the assessment for a 2nd time. Once they have taken this assessment twice, they receive their highest scores as their grade. If your student has failed both attempts, Mrs. Linehan must input their grade manually for them to continue. Please have your student send Mrs. Linehan a message so the next part of the unit may be unlocked. Students will receive two grades each week. One grade is their overall score of activities completed, and the other grade is their percentage of completion for that week. Starting next week, students will be assigned additional classes that will count as their electives.

Virtual Attendance Procedures
Students will be responsible for reporting their attendance for their virtual school days (this applies to both hybrid and full remote students).  Please follow the directions below in Infinite Campus to do so.

Do you need to reset your password?

Employees and students are now able to reset their District account password from any location with Internet access. If you are interested in resetting your password, you can visit the Self-Service Password Reset Portal at any time to do so. The Self-Service Password Portal is accessible from the Educator Dashboard, Student Dashboard, and the Department of Innovation & Technology website.

A few things to note...
  • You will need to enroll in the Self-Service Password Reset Portal to be able to reset a forgotten password. This process is similar to most other password recovery systems. As part of this process, you will be asked to select and provide answers to a few challenge questions and in the event that you forget your password, you will be asked to answer your selected challenge questions before you will be allowed to reset your password.

  • If you reset your password while off-campus your connected cloud accounts such as Microsoft, Office 365, Google, and others will be updated in near real-time, however, at this time, your Windows computer will continue to use your old password until you return to campus and connect to the District network.

8th Grade Promotion - Drive-thru Recognition

ATTENTION all 8th graders who have earned their credits and will, therefore, earn the Promotion opportunity! While this isn't as fancy or ideal as our regular 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony, the EVMS staff would love to recognize you and celebrate your hard work in a different manner. On Thursday, June 4, between 12:00-1:00 p.m., we invite you and your parents or other family members to drive through the front drop-off/pick-up, main driveway to be recognized, cheered, and congratulated on your accomplishment. The EVMS staff will line the drive, congratulate and cheer you on as you drive slowly past them. To maintain social distancing guidelines, your promotion certificate will be mailed home with your report cards and yearbook (if purchased). We'll be taking pictures to post on FB and our website, so be ready to smile and wave as you drive by! We sure miss you all and hope you know that we are proud of you!!!!
Attention 8th Graders!
8th Grade Personal Item pick-up: Monday, June 1 & Tuesday, June 2; Same as 6th/7th grade, but come by anytime between 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. All you need to do is drive into the main entrance, give us your name, we will quickly retrieve and deliver your bagged items to your cars, including band instruments, any locker items (regular and locker room). We will also retrieve your Chromebooks, chargers, and band instruments from you at this time. Just give these to us when you give us your name. You never have to leave your car!  Unfortunately, items left in classrooms may need to remain there until August as staff is not allowed on campus until that time.  We apologize for this inconvenience and hope we get back to normal ASAP!

Attention 6th and 7th Graders!

The following dates and rotations based on your LAST NAME have been established so you can pick up your belongings from your lockers (regular and locker room). If you already took everything home, you may disregard these dates. Look for the date with the FIRST LETTER of your LAST NAME:

Wednesday, May 27th: F - M
Thursday, May 28th: N - Z
Friday, May 29th - Anyone unable to make their assigned, scheduled times.

A Message from Dr. Conley
New Scheduled Support and Instructional Hours
Beginning Monday, April 6, EVMS will be utilizing a scheduled support and instructional time for all students and teachers. When teachers have specific information or lessons that they want to provide students in a more "direct" manner, they may ask students to virtually meet at these specific times. Students won't be asked to meet during these times every day, just when teachers need to utilize this specific time! Teachers will continue to assign, communicate, and respond to students throughout the day and week. As you can see, mornings and afternoons are alternated, with odd period classes (1, 3, 5) on Mondays and Wednesdays being alternated with even period classes (2, 4, 6) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This will help prevent students from being asked to attend different sessions at the same time by different teachers.

Monday:
Period 1: 8:30-9:00
Period 3: 9:00-9:30
Period 5: 10:00-10:30
Tuesday:
Period 2: 8:30-9:00
Period 4: 9:00-9:30
Period 6: 10:00-10:30
Wednesday:
Period 1: 12:30-1:00
Period 3: 1:00-1:30
Period 5: 2:00-2:30
Thursday:
Period 2: 12:30-1:00
Period 4: 1:00-1:30
Period 6: 2:00-2:30
Friday:
This is district time with no direct lessons or meetings being requested. Our teachers still attend many meetings with colleagues and teams across the district. Students and parents should expect minimal responses or instruction, if any, on Fridays. A similar schedule approach is being utilized by our other secondary schools (CHS, Pioneer, CMS), as well, so this schedule will support everybody across the district.

School Closure
EVMS is currently closed until April 20th. We will begin distance learning on Monday March 23. You are required to complete your distance learning assignments as they are for a grade. Your teachers are available if you have questions.
